I worked in the Pest Management industry for a decade and I learned very quickly how smart rats were. They were always a worthy adversary.

@squirrelmanning7889 That would not work because the rats would still be there, still causing damage to the property and still being vectors for disease. You know I did not enjoy killing rodents, in fact I hated it but I understood that it HAD TO BE DONE to protect people and their property. I will also point out that rats are an invasive species and they do a lot of damage to the natural environment and hurt native species of wildlife.
