A teenage girl who is overly attached and in an unhealthy relationship needs supervision from her parents. If a girl says if she can't be with boy X she would rather be dead, that is a VERY unhealthy relationship.

I tell idiots Truth Someone said she was 18. However, if she is still living at home with her parents she doesn't get to do whatever she wants. When she moves out and pays her own way then she is independent and can make her own poor life decisions.

@ChineduOpara How so?

That is called confirmation bias. In your mind EVERYTHING is racial so that is what you see in EVERYTHING. Let me ask you to look at it from this point of view with an OPEN mind. Your teenage daughter is dating a boy and at first everything seems fine. You start noticing that she is obsessing over that boy, constantly with him, on the phone with him, texting him. She can't be out of contact with him for more than 20 minutes without becoming anxious. You talk to your daughter and voice your concerns but your daughter says if I can be with Boy X I would rather be dead. As a parent would you not be concerned for your daughter and wonder if she has the mental maturity to be involved in that relationship?

@GamingThylacine8 Thank you for your civil response. I will also counter it is EQUALLY possible that this cop was racist and didn't want his daughter dating a black guy. All I am saying is that we should not make assumptions based of a thirty second video clip.

Claiming it was racially motivated with NO INFORMATION about that particular situation is called confirmation bias. You think it is racially motivated therefore it must be. 99% of racial stuff in this country is simple confirmation bias.

There is nothing wrong with helping your kid get into college. ANY parent would do the same.

@estrellaashleywilliams4061 I 100% agree with you that what he did was unjustified and him losing his job was the correct outcome. I am not condoning WHAT he did because it was unreasonable to any reasonable person. All I am saying is that we can't ASSUME it was racially motivated based off a 30 second video clip. It could have been racially motivated but without context saying that it was racially motivated is confirmation bias.

@prettyblues6665 That is the perfect example of confirmation bias. In your mind you see EVERYTHING as racist so racism is all you see when you see something. I am not saying that it was or was not racially motivated. What I am saying is as with EVERYTHING context matters and without further information it is IMPOSSIBLE to know. To simply say it is racial and if you don't agree you must be a racist is a really good example of low IQ thinking.
