  2. vzdorr b  Actually the OHP class used SM1 missiles not SM2's. The MK- 13 launcher was too small to launch the SM2. It was Raytheon's decision to end support for the missiles that caused the premature retirement of the entire class. If they had a VLS system the OHP's would still be in service today.

  3. The United States Navy has adopted the distributed lethality theory. Where greater numbers of smaller ships are more survivable than a large capital ship.
