The used condom and lube in the bedroom could have come from one of her other clients. Anyways the medical examiner will be able to tell if he had synthetic lubricant in her vagina. Add in the fact that if the autopsy shows she had a date rape drug in her system they have the guy in a ironclad open and shut case.

Let me ask you a simple question, do you work for the Police Department handling this case? If not HOW WOULD YOU KNOW the police are not investigating this man? If I am a detective, while I am waiting for the medical report to come back giving a cause of death I am going to start a background check on him, behind the scenes and as quiet as possible so he does not get a lawyer. I am going to try and obtain a warrant to examine Bumbles records and see who he has gone on dates with in the past and interview them, quietly behind the scenes. Do you know what confirmation bias is? You think that police don't care what happens to black people and you see a news story that has almost no information and automatically you assume it is because of race.

Why? A lie detector is inadmissible in court. It accomplishes NOTHING. What it could do is stop him TALKING and lawyering up. In a case like this you take the mans statement and you wait for the medical examiners report. If there are discrepancies in what the mans story is and the cause of death THEN you bring him into the police station and begin questioning him further hoping there are inconsistencies and contradictions in what he is telling you NOW and what he told you at the scene. How is it people are so ignorant of BASIC law enforcement techniques?

They did question him AND take his statement. The next step any reasonable person would realize it to get the report back from the Medical Examiner that will list a cause of death. If the cause of death does not match his story than you have a basis for filing charges. What if the report comes back and turns out she had a brain aneurysm that ruptured or a heart defect and died of natural causes? All we know is there was a death, we don't even know if a crime has been committed yet.

@stephezinho All I am saying is that we don't know if they considered that man a suspect or not. If I was the detective in charge of the case, I am going to be as nice and friendly as I can be when I take his statement at the scene. Not let on that he is a potential suspect so he keeps talking. Once I get the medical report back and say she died from a date rape drug I am going to bring him in for questioning and see if his story has changed at all from the night we took his statement. If it has I cross examine him on that, I bring up the inconsistencies with his story and what the medical repost says. I try to trip him up and call him out on story changes, factual inconsistencies and try and get a confession. If he lawyers up I have enough evidence with between his statements and the medical report to file charges.

Black privilege.....to throw the race card with no evidence that things would have happened any differently in your described scenarios. Do you know what confirmation bias is? You should look it up.

Actually they did question him and take his statement at the scene. You can not bring someone down to the station and "Question" them if you are not sure a crime has been committed in the first place. That is what the medical examiners report will clarify, the cause of death. THEN the police will have a course of action to follow. Do you know what confirmation bias is? You just displayed it PERFECTLY.

Why would you identify someone who as of right now not being charged with a crime? If the medical report comes back and she died from a date rape drug and charges are filed he will be identified.
