  1. As a former amateur boxer I will say it is the punches you DON'T see that hurt you the most. Liston throws out a jab and doesn't pull it back quickly, Ali's right hand is initially blocked from view by Listons left arm. At the last moment, it rises and comes over the top of his arm and connects solidly. Liston NEVER saw the punch and didn't have his chin tucked and went to sleepy town.
