I wish I could find the video but someone took a video during the day from the exact spot the night video was shot. Then they interpolated the day and night videos on a 1 for 1 frame rate so you could see the mountains in the background. You can CLEARLY see the flares descending and go behind the mountains one at a time. They were flares.

The Phoenix lights were nothing more than a flare pattern from a military jet. I have seen similar shapes countless times during military exercises.
