Electronic, magnetic, visual, EM, etc. The Allies used a series of lights along the front and wings of aircraft to match daylight intensity which made them nearly undetectable visually until they were very close. The Germans lost a lot of submarines because they didn't see the aircraft approaching until it was too late.

  2. I don't know if you are joking or not but the Horton brothers had NO KNOWLEDGE of stealth. They designed their plane to be as efficient as possible and it was their belief that the flying wing was the optimal shape for an aircraft.
