  1. This is one of the WORST conspiracy theories ever and you really need a below normal IQ to believe it. What REALLY happed is the USS Eldridge was undergoing routine Degaussing to eliminate a ships magnetic signature making it INVISIBLE to MAGNETIC mines. Degaussing a ship involves wrapping the ship with thick cables that a large amount of electricity is run through to degauss the metal. This was not a permanent solution, ships would have to do this every three months to keep their magnetic signature neutral.
