  1. It is hilarious when people quote the top speed of an aircraft as if it means anything in combat. The F-16 is faster than the F-35 on paper but in the real world the F-35 carrying a combat load has a 50 knot cruising speed advantage over the F-16 because it doesn't suffer from parasitic drag like the F-16. So in reality the F-16 has to fly on afterburner to keep up with the F-35.

  3.  @forzaisspeed  Right but as the F-16 uses it's missiles and fuel and gets lighter, so does the F-35. It may not have the top end speed on paper but its functional speed in actual combat situations is superior to the F-16.
