LOL No they managed to hold on long enough until the US got tired of killing them. The US killed 1.1 million enemy soldiers with the loss of 58,209. Whenever the Vietnamese chose to fight is was a one sided slaughter.

@Riimaachan They didn't lose anything. When the US pulled out South Vietnam as an entity continued to exist for over a year. You don't lose a war without losing any battles. In those rare times the Vietnamese decided to come out an fight they got stomped hard.

@Riimaachan I will point out that the Vietnamese did have tanks and there were a few tank battles in Vietnam, the Vietnamese lost of course. You keep insisting the United States lost, how do you lose a war when you win all the battles?

Well the Republic of Vietnam was not really an ally. After the war there was a sale of RVN rifles. All in great condition, never been fired and only dropped once.

@Godstandwithus I will say the Vietnamese were worthy adversaries, brave, tough and willing to fight and very skilled at fighting. Unlike the Taliban who hid for twenty years and waited for the US to get bored and go home.

@Godstandwithus The Vietnam war had nothing to do with Communism, the domino effect or any other such nonsense used to sell the war. The war in Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq they have all been fought for one reason......MONEY. The Military Industrial Complex realized how much money there was to be made in war. So they have invented opponents to fight which is why we have been perpetually at war since 1941.
