LOL I am not a catholic but I want to know WHY you think it is not a likely place? If you look at maps of Jerusalem in Jesus time the Praetorium where Jesus was judged and sentenced to be crucified by Pilot was a short walk to the Gennath Gate. From the Gennath Gate it is a short walk to the crucifixion site where the church stands today. The Praetorium was also close to Herod Antipas's palace, the High Priest Ciaphias's house, all places Jesus was taken after he was arrested. The Praetorium served as Pilots house and administrative center for Jerusalem, it was previously the Palace of Herod The Great. I will also point out that there are multiple first century Jewish Tombs on the site proving that it was used as a cemetery in Jesus time. There is also evidence of first century agriculture meaning there was a garden in that place as well. You refuse to accept that the evidence is overwhelming that this is the place because of your hatred for Catholics. Here is a news flash, the church existed LONG before the Catholic church. The site is NOT a Catholic site, it is owned jointly by the Catholic, Armenian, Greek Orthodox, Eastern Orthodox, Coptic Church, Ethiopian Church and a few others as well, are you saying that all of these churches with histories that go back THOUSANDS of years all got it wrong?
