@looneyburgmusic I don't think anyone says Laserdisc is better than DVD but for the TIME it was out it murdered VHS as a format for watch movies from a picture quality standpoint and an audio standpoint.

I had a Laser Disk player and it was AWESOME. If the compression would have been better where an entire movie could have been stored on a single disk I think the format would have done a lot better. I had Ben Hur on Laser Disk and changing sides and disk 4 times for that movie was just too much.

If they could have fit an entire movie on one side I think the format would have been a lot more successful. I personally enjoyed the packaging the movies came in. I had one for Dracula that opened up, it had screen shots and information on the inside of it. It was very appealing and satisfying.

@electrictroy2010 I had a laser disk player and I hated flipping the disk lol.

@electrictroy2010 Ben Hur came on three disks with content on both sides of the first two disks and on one side on the final disk. So that is 4 interruptions in a single movie.
