  7. We used to own much of France through our monarchy. Queen Mary lost the last remnant, Calais, and Queen Elizabeth tried to get it back, but failed. Shame. We could do with it now to defend against illegal Channel crossings.

  12. Yes indeed. The USA didn't pop up ready-cooked a couple of hundred years ago like some seem to think. It stands on the shoulders of British giants who took long and difficult centuries to build our own country, which we then exported to the New World. He presided over three policies which helped to wreck Britain: mass immigration, devolution (producing Labour Wales and Nationalist Scotland) and the abolition of the right of hereditary peers to sit in the House of Lords, thereby making way for politicos loyal to party not country.
