  2.  @freyatilly  Don't let the Leftist revisionists fool you, the Indian caste system goes back thousands of years. It is the foundation stone of Hinduism, tied up with the belief in Karma and reincarnation. Caste is embedded in their family names and the work they can do. The British got rid of several nefarious customs like suttee and thugee but could not lay a finger on the caste system.
