Yeah it's not really a spilt, it's just a few disagreements in how to progress, a split would be if some countries start siding with Russia or start saying we shouldn't send any weapons which I've not seen any of that.
With that being said, I think talks with Russia should always be open, any chance even if slim of reducing the bloodshed should always be taken and I kinda have to agree with Macron when he says we shouldn't humiliate Russia as that plays into Putin's hand, after all, a lot of Russians are getting a lot of disinformation on this war, if the west goes with the intention of humiliating Russia without giving them any way out, it will only back Russia more deeply into this war with likely a lot more support from the Russian people which is likely what Putin wants, but with all that said, what Putin is doing in Ukraine has to have a major cost to Russia.
