@Minimmalmythicist That's just, and the real failure of the west was over 10 years ago with Crimea, the west should have put its foot down far harder for what Russia did back then and that could have avoided the war in Ukraine altogether.
Basically, the west was too much of a soft touch, Putin saw that as weakness and took advantage of it, China probably sees it as weakness, which makes them more bold on many policy areas.
As for Scholz, he's shown poor leadership, at a time when the EU needs strong leadership, and unless things change, the balance of power in the EU will likely shift away from Germany towards other EU members, which to some degree is probably already happening.
In any case, what we saw with Crimea over a decade ago was a warning to the west, we didn't take that warning so Putin pushed his luck again by trying to take over all of Ukraine, if we in the west are stupid enough to allow that to happen, it will likely escalate things further down the line as Putin will see that as the west being weak and will likely look at other targets to invade, China might also get more embolden around the world and the west needs to put its foot down hard to make it really costly for these countries to do these things, after all, they won't stop unless the cost is so high that they can't afford to continue, so in the case of Ukraine, give them the means to end the war sooner rather than later, whiles making it very costly for Russia, maybe they might learn something then.
