I feel sorry for eastern European countries that lean towards Russia, whether that be the people or the government, it usually means voting for a lower standard of living, living at the mercy of Russia and it's political games.
I mean seriously, just look at the eastern European countries that joined the EU, the quality of life is improving in leaps and bounds compared to the eastern European countries not in the EU, they also don't have to live in fear for what Putin might do.
The gap is going to keep widening with the eastern European countries that are in the EU and the ones that are not in the EU, sooner or later, that knock on effect pressure will build where the countries not in the EU will want what the ones in the EU have and that is something Putin can't deliver for his own people, never mind the other eastern European countries, basically, prosperity, equality and not living in fear, something the EU can offer, Russia can't.
So even if Russia wins one or two games with a few countries to the east, they are losing the war, which is of hearts and minds, something the EU does a lot better.
