@veritaspk Yep, not with Russia, at least not with the current leadership, but it wouldn't surprise me if EU relations with China become warmer if the US pushes its luck, which is probably the last thing the US wants, which is why Trump is more of a risk to the US than he is to anyone else, but honestly, I think this might need to happen to deflate egos in the US.
But honestly, the EU doesn't need China or the US, as much as Americans seem to think they do, they've got an advanced economy, big economy, high skill base, all they really need is to restructure on the military front, which could happen quickly if there were a real threat to them, which would likely combine military units of each of the members into a single entity, reduce duplications and streamline in other areas, even on current defence spending, that would be an impressive millinery, and spending is going up in many countries.
But yeah, if the US does push it's luck, the EU would likely be on friendlier terms with China in areas that the US doesn't want, that doesn't mean the EU would be friends with China, but it would mean the EU won't do what's in US interest.

@veritaspk I've no problem with NATO, but I do think the EU countries need to get their act together and speak more with one voice on military and forign policy matters, at the moment, having 27 voices pulling in all directions is a major weakness, also, if Trump did gain power, it would make the US far less reliable as a partner, it would also reduce the usefulness of NATO, unless the EU beefs up it's military, but either way, a lot of countries would likely want to distance themselves from the US, that likely means they'll make new partnerships with others around the world, many of which won't be in the interest of the US.
It would be a shame because the EU and US are culturally the same, but the US is becoming too aggressive and unpredictable with its policies.
On the plus side, it would likely weaken US power around the world, whiles forcing the EU countries to beef up their powers at an EU level, it would also give countries around the world an alternative to the US, the real winners in that would be the EU and China, which China have been wanting to weaken the US for some time by dividing the EU and US, the other winners would be every other country around the world that would have a choice, the EU or the US, where now, many don't have a choice, if they did, you have to wonder which direction they would go.
