@promajo Not quite true because people that are vaccinated are still catching the virus and it can still mutate in them, it just means there are less chances of dying from the virus. But I really have to wonder how effective getting the jab is with infection and death rates rising again.

@Jabber-ig3iw Can't argue with common sense, the less people that spread it, the less likely the ones that don't have the vaccine to catch Covid, sounds like the smart thing is to wait it out and not take it, after all, why take any risks on any of the side effects when vaccines usually take around 10+ years to develop, basically, this was rushed through because of the pandemic, who knows what longer-term effects it will have on people so my logic is simple, why take it if I don't need too and I suspect many others are thinking the same.

There was also the aspect that if I recall, the EU ended up shipping out a lot of vaccines, about half to none EU countries in the early days whereas the UK and US kept most for themselves.

Does it really create herd immunity thought? not so long ago, a friend of mine went to watch the Euro final, he had both jabs and yet came back with the virus, question is, can it still mutate and can they still spread it.

@JimmyM205 I think the main goal was to buy time and not create a panic but as permanent solution's goal, it seems we are a long way from that even with the vaccines. On the plus side, enough people will develop natural immunity to the virus regardless of if they've taken the vaccine or not, so in time, it should become less deadly unless it mutates into something much worse which ironically, the vaccines could force the virus to mutate more by adapting to it.

@neodym5809 Maybe but the chances of harm from the virus are pretty small even for people that don't have the vaccine and in the end, if the virus continues to mutate, it could become a threat to both vaccinated and none vaccinated people.

@Phil_AKA_ThundyUK That doesn't really tell us much because each wave is different.

@promajo I think you misunderstand what I'm getting at, if vaccinated people continue to get the virus, there's a fair chance that the body learns to live with the existing virus whiles it continues to mutate, that's a problem because we don't know where that could lead in the long run. Basically, unless we cut the virus out where it can't spread or mutate, the risk is always there for people that are vaccinated or not, also, the vaccine in some cases could make it worse by forcing the virus to mutate more.

@neodym5809 That's fine, in that case, there is little reason for many of the ones that have not taken the vaccine to take it if the ones that's taken it are less likely to spread it.
