I think it's too early to say, but I highly doubt it's the end of Schengen and more like a temporary measure, maybe even temporary enough that it can last many years or a decade until immigration is brought back under control. At the end of the day, the real issue isn't with Schengen, it's with each EU member having its own individual policy on immigration, which is crazy when it clearly makes sense for that to be controlled at an EU level when there are open boarders internally, in other words, the issue isn't Schengen but a few bad eggs, as in EU countries that are ruining it for everyone else.
