I had the same feeling, let them win where they are in a position that they have to deliver and then let them fall on their own sword, kinda like what Brexiteers in the UK did to themselves with Brexit in the UK which is helping the other side to create more pro EU sentiments.
Basically, it's easy to bluster and say anything they want on the sidelines, but when they win and have to deliver on real policies, that's where it can all fall apart and where voters can quickly turn on them.
Le Pen isn't doing good because of any of her policies, she's doing good because the French are fed up with the mainstream parties, basically it's a protest vote, but if she got into power, she would have one or two terms to deliver solid results before the French people turn on them, that's when the reality of their policies really kick in on the people, a bit like how it's doing on Brits with Brexit.
To put it another way, the grass isn't greener on the other side, and I understand there's a lot of anger going around, but the far right are not the solution and the only way to expose that is to allow them power only for them to make a mess of things, a bit like in the UK, nothing was going to get through to the Eurosceptics, but Brexit is really starting to change public views on the EU, reality is kicking in, I think that is needed in other countries like France, yes we need solutions and change, but the far right are not the solutions we need.
