I think what is likely going to happen is a lot of the manufacturing force is going to move out of China towards other cheap labour economies over the next 5, 10 years, especially if China shows any real signs of supporting Putin. The damage could be massive against China but it would take a little time, whereas for the west, they've got options on this whereas China is very limited in what it can do, hence why China needs to be very careful on it's actions on Russia because look at the EU, they plan of fazing out Russian oil and gas over the next few years, if they can do that, you can bet the west can look for alternatives to China for manufacturing as I'm sure there are more than enough countries that would love to take that business away from China.

These negotiations were never going to go anywhere, it's mostly a smoke screen by Putin to see what the mood is like in Ukraine for backing down in this war. As for being a natural country, well I think Putin can kiss that idea goodbye, there might have been a chance of that before the invasion but I suspect there is little to no chance of that now with Ukraine likely going full steam ahead for EU membership just to get away from Russia. NATO on the other hand is a different thing, Ukraine might forgo that if they get EU membership, in the end, EU membership is really what they want not NATO membership as EU membership more or less offers the same protection whiles offering a lot of other benefits, stability, economic wealth and so on. As for the damage done in Ukraine, the assets that the west have frozen of Russia, around $300 billion, use them to rebuild Ukraine, basically, Russia did the damage, they should be held to account and pay for the damage done.
