@joeyjojojrshabadoo7462 He's right thought, since the war in Ukraine and even before the war, Russia's influence has been in decline and it's very likely to continue as long as the EU and NATO continue to expand eastward, which is very likely in the case of the EU because of Russia's actions in Ukraine that is scaring a lot of eastern European countries into the EU's hands.
Putin probably sees the EU as the biggest threat, because for every country the EU swallows up and helps to develop, it has a ripple effect on nearby countries that want the same thing, just like the countries that joined the EU over the last 2 decades is having a ripple effect on other nearby countries in the region, that over the long run is weakening Russian influence in the region whiles making the EU stronger.
But Russia only has it's self to blame, threats, intimidation only work for a short time, ultimately, it's pushing these countries towards the EU and the irony is, with everything that's going on in Ukraine, the EU is by far the biggest winner from that with Russia being the biggest loser, we've already seen two countries join NATO and countless more that are lining up to join the EU, Putin's tactics are not working, but he's got himself into such a hole, that it's hard for him to change course.
