I doubt it was the US or Russia that did it, but even if it was the US, what would they stand to gain from it? Europeans were only going to buy LNG from them over a short time to fill the void and that would only change if LNG becomes a lot cheaper, if it doesn't, Europeans will gravitate towards other energy sources and reduce how much gas they use by becoming more efficient, something they've been doing. It's the nature of the free market economy, so I don't think it was the US or Russia that did it but in all honesty, it doesn't matter much now because of how quickly Europeans have adapted to this and in the end, consumers will always goes to who can deliver at a lower price, so the US would only stand to benefit from blowing it up short term and the risk would be pretty high for them if found out.
