I think NATO should stay as an overall military alliance but the EU countries really need to get their act together and work a lot closer in military matters, the EU countries the biggest weakness is that we are divided politically, Putin took full advantage of that divide, many others around the world try to do the same. I think if EU countries want to protect their political, economic and social interest, they are going to have to speak more with one voice, the irony being, Putin might have helped on that immensely.

I always wonder if the EU countries worked together as a single EU military and say puts 20, 40,000 peacekeeping troops in Ukraine before the war started if it would have prevented the war from happening, after all, it's one thing to attack Ukraine which is quite a poor country, it would be another to attack if the EU had a lot of troops in there, that likely would have been enough to prevent war from happening. In any case, it's high time us Europeans start looking after ourselves, we have the economy, the skills and capabilities to do so, do we have the political will to speak as one voice? that's what is really needed so it's much harder to divide us which is what many others like Putin, Trump and even Brexit tries to do.
