  1. The more Russia keeps using threats and fear, the more countries that are going to want to join the EU and NATO. What Putin is doing is actually backfiring on him and the more he keeps doing it, the more countries are going to tilt towards the EU and NATO. It's remarkable that Putin doesn't see this as his actions are making the EU, NATO and the west stronger whiles having the opposite effect that Putin wanted.
