@takoto2610 It depends, Putin is doing everything he can to try and protect the economy, but the longer the war drags on in Ukraine, the bigger the drain is on the Russian economy.
We don't know what the true numbers of the Russian economy is, but it's certain that Putin is lying about the numbers to make themselves better than they are, but that's a short term thing that could backfire once the economy starts to hit the Russian people.
In any case, Putin is desperate to avoid hitting the richer regions of the economy, knowing that once those regions get hit, the people could turn on him, the problem for Putin, the longer the war drags on, it's just a matter of time before it hits those regions, and remember guys, history shows that long-drawn-out wars usually have a big negative impact on the economy, so the real question is, how bad will things get and how bad are the Russian people willing to let things get bad before they wake up, either way, that nest egg for fuelling the war early on is running on fumes now, in other words, Putin will likely have to start tapping into the economy that hurts the Russian people to push the war effort, it's just a matter of when not if that happens if the war drags on.
