It really depends, if the EU countries were to do this and I do think it's a good idea in the long run, it would mean sharing debts and for that, much tougher rules on those countries that are reckless on the economy, otherwise it would be a bottomless pit of the rich northern countries helping the poorer southern countries without them doing the needed reforms to keep up.
So yeah, I'm in favour of sharing debts but only with shared responsibility and that means those countries that are more reckless with their finances, need to get their act together if they want this help.
Anyway, if they do debt sharing, it should be done on a case by case basis, what I mean by that is money that goes out to countries that need it, are supervised on a project per-project basis so as to not waste that money on project that don't solve the problem, it looks like the EU is doing this with Italy, the idea being is so the country in question doesn't get reckless with that money as the money could stop at any time and I think that is a better way of doing it, supervised by the EU and country in question, to make so the money is spent in areas that are needed whiles doing reforms, it also reduces the risk of that bottomless pit and would likely make those countries that need help, a lot more competitive on the market which will benefit all EU countries, so just makes sure there are strict rules in place to make that money accountable.
