There would be a lot of benefits for both sides if they did join together, Moldova would clearly benefit the most with everything that's going on in Ukraine as if they became part of Romania, they would become part of the EU, so security would be in a much better place but economic growth would be better as well, being part of Romania would help that but being part of the EU would likely help more, there is also that as well, it would be a quick way for them to join the EU if German unification is any indication and being as Moldova is quite small, it shouldn't really be a burden on Romania or the EU to help build up their economy. I think the question is, do the people in both Romania and Moldova want it, what form of system would it be with integrating them into Romania and then we have the EU, would they want them in with the issues surrounding Transnistria or would they want to work on solving that issue first.
