It's highly unlikely that Putin would invade an EU or NATO country, it's one thing to take on Ukraine which are a much poorer country, it's another to take on an EU or NATO country, on top of that, the EU and NATO would be compelled to response back in a much more forceful way if Putin did that.
If Putin does attack another country, it's likely going to be vulnerable countries that are not in the EU or NATO, countries like Moldova but considering how things are going in Ukraine plus the sanctions, it's looking like Putin is going to get bogged down in Ukraine.
Putin has already miscalculated on the EU and western response to this invasion, with it being much tougher than he expected it to be, an invasion of a NATO country would force other NATO countries to get more involved directly, that is a lot more the case with EU countries with how integrated they are together, in other words, it could become an all out war if Putin did that.
The truth is, the EU and US would have to respond a lot tougher even if Putin invades a none EU or NATO country, if you don't put a stop to him, he's going to keep going, invading one vulnerable country after another, that would likely force the west to get more directly involved even thought they know the risk in a nuclear age.

@Zaydan Naufal Not being a neighbour of Russia does help a bit, being part of the EU would help them a lot more but even without that, having close ties with the EU would help.
Honestly, with the reaction from the west and especially the EU, I doubt Putin expected such a tough response and that's probably put his other plans on hold about invading Moldova unless he's really gone crazy which we can't dismiss that but with the sanctions on Russia and the EU actively looking for alternative sources away from Russian oil and gas, it's going to end up bleeding the Russian economy which will have a big impact on living standards in Russia, that's when Putin really needs to worry.
As for the other eastern European countries, I think if any others gets attacked, the EU and US will likely have to take a more active role against Russia, other Putin won't stop until someone stops him.
But honestly, the way things are going on in Ukraine and how slow the advance from Russia is in taking over Ukraine, they might not have the resources to take another country on, especially if Russia gets bogged down in Ukraine.
