@fedethefico Yeah their videos are becoming less balanced when it comes to the EU and Europe the last few months, glad I'm not the only one that noticed that.

I love it when Russia plays these games as it really amount to little as it's always short term but more importantly, it gives another shot in the harm to invest in alternative energy sources. Russia's thinking is very short term and not very smart as they could very likely end up speeding up alternative's energy sources which could cut revenue down by about 10 years to Russia on gas and oil. If Russia were smart, they would have a stable energy system with no games and a reasonable price, there would be less incentive and motivation for Europeans to look for alternatives then which could delay that by decades but all Russia is doing is making themselves less reliable and that in the longer run will make it's oil and gas worthless. In any case, if Russia did play these games longer term, Europe would get it's gas and oil on the world market, likely pushing up prices for everyone else and that could turn more countries against Russia. Either way, I don't see what Russia aims to achieve longer term here because it's likely harming it's interest.

@jvgama That's usually how the markets works, even when you've got enough storage to weather the storm for a while, prices go up to try and reduce demand until the situation settles. Basically the storage isn't about reducing the price but making sure there is no cut off point where little to no gas at all which would harm the economy.

@fitzstv8506 Pretty much that, Russia needs EU money so can't afford to play these games too long but even if they did, the EU would buy gas on the international market which would likely push up the price for everyone else around the world. Russia needs to be careful about fulfilling it's contract, because if it makes it's self an unrealizable partner, EU countries will just look elseware and Russia loses out, in fact Russia is probably already losing out because things like this will just speed up the EU to find alternatives, if Russia isn't careful, they could lose out on around 10 years worth of gas and even oil sales to the EU. It's never a smart move to play games with the ones that have the money.
