The simple answer is yes it can, it would probably need to be reorganised a bit but it would do fine without the US and EU countries would likely play a bigger role in it.
But if the US were to leave NATO, it would actually weaken the US position with its allies, it would also weaken them in Europe a lot, it could also make the EU stronger if they play there cards right as they could become a potential replacement of the US, but they need to get there act together as speaking more as one and not 27.
As for the US, it could isolate them as a country, which is more or less what China and to a less degree, Russia wants, after all, a US with fewer allies is an easier target for a rising power like China, and we know this already because China have been trying to pull the EU away from the US, so Trump could play into the hands of what China wants and could do a lot of damage to the US if he's not careful over the coming years, but in any case, I think the EU and China are the ones that stand to benefit the most from Trump and his actions, if they both play their cards right, whereas the US is quickly heading on a slippery slope that they might not recover from any time soon if they keep going the way they are doing.
