@sttthr Unfortunately, the ruling party has a negative impact on the Polish people. In any case, I think the real issue in Poland is because of where a lot of Polish people get their news, they get it from government controlled sources that control the narrative of what they want the people to see, it's less impactful on the younger generation, but it's very effective on the older generation that are stuck in their way, and unfortunately for Poland, a lot of the younger generation of people end up fleeing the country for a better life, which re-enforces the power of the current government to do what it wants and get away with it, at least in Poland, I say that because I think longer term that if Poland and Hungary keep heading on this path, it's going to end up with them being booted out of the EU in one way or the other. At the end of the day, it's up to the people in Poland to change the path the country is going on, if they don't, it's only going to hit them the hardest, because it always does while the ones in power get away with it.

@baird5682 He is right though, considering that the EU is an open border among its countries, that kind of power makes a lot more sense at an EU level over national level and a lot of these issues are a direct result of the national governments that have a spill-over effect into other countries because of the open borders, closing the boarders isn't the solution, handing the powers to the EU or having a more coordinated policy in place to manage this is needed, doing all this at an individual EU country just creates a mess, as we keep seeing.
