  1. Regional power is more accurate for them. As for superpowers, I would say the EU, US and China, and India could become one someday, being that superpower status is usually dependent on a big economy, population size and to a less degree, military, the first 3 have all those, even the EU, but the EU military is fragmented over many countries, but it's still modern and high-tech, it wouldn't take much for them to combine those militaries. Apart from that, there are others that could form, especially as we are seeing other groups of nations banding together to emulate something like what the Europeans did with the EU.
