Maybe but that isn't the case for EU countries, that have some of the highest quality of living, have a lot of time off work, paid time off at that, and a lot of social benefits, including child support, and yet, people don't seem to want to have kids.
Basically, EU countries have some of the better conditions to have kids, a lot of support from the government and more free time, yet, it doesn't seem to be having much if any impact on population growth.

This is becoming a problem in almost every modern country, where the quality of life is good, and it might actually get worse, because as the quality of life improves, it seems people want to have fewer kids, maybe all that could change if A.I. reduces a lot of the need of the workforce, basically, freeing people up to enjoy life, that could give people more incentive to have kids, whereas now, it's just too costly and takes too much time up in a world that work takes too much time already.
The thing is, things could have been a lot worse in western countries if it wasn't for imagination, that's propping the numbers up, it's also more likely that an immigrant is more likely to have more kids than a native born in the country, I see that a lot in the UK, US and France.
The question is, is it such a bad thing that the population is slowing or going to decline? Many will argue that in many countries, the population needs to shrink to create more breathing room, especially considering the boom in population growth we had over the last century, maybe this is natures way of balancing things out, and there are signs in countries like China that it could happen there, another country that had a big boom in population growth.
