Turkey is a prime example of how not to run an economy, and since Erdoğan took power and consolidated his position of power to make it difficult for alternatives to compete, Erdoğan has been getting bold with sticking his nose in areas that he doesn't understand, the economy, central bank and all that, to make it worse, he's using the religion card to justify his actions, we've seen over centuries how religion and the economy is a bad mix, it can put an anchor on the economy that can drag it down, which is more or less what we are seeing in Turkey.
In hindsight, the Turkish people probably shouldn't have elected Erdoğan, now that he's elected and consolidating his position of power, it might be difficult for the Turkish people to get him out of power, and I feel this is going to be one of those situation that things need to get worse over time for the people to get so angry with the government that he gets forced out, but usually, that can take a long time, which is unfortunate, because during that time, Erdoğan is sinking the economy.
