I don't see much hope for CANZUK, we are talking about 4 countries that are pretty much on the other side of the world from each other, forming a union between them will be very difficult because of distance and that distance matters because the political and economic interest of the 4 will be quite different from each other.
Even with Canada, they are very much tied into the US and Mexico, but with the US going the way it's going and Canada wanting to shift away from the US, it's opening up the door for the possibility of the EU and Canada becoming much closer, maybe even membership long term, but that's a big IF.
I also think eventually the UK will rejoin the EU at some point once the EU and its members are open to the idea of letting them back in, so not for a while, which leaves Australia and New Zealand, both are not in the best position as they are too far away from both the EU and US and have a rising China to contend with, so I'm not sure what the best option is for them too, but Canada and the UK are easy, closer relations with the EU makes a lot of sense in a world where the US is going off the rails.

Could Canada join the EU? Maybe, but the EU would have to be more open to the possibility of countries outside of Europe joining the union, but it's possible, being that Canada and EU countries are not that different from each other in a lot of area and share a lot of common values.
For it to happen, the EU would have to be more open to the idea, the EU would also have to reform it's self when it comes to veto rules as I doubt the EU will let any new country in until reforms are done, there's also Canada and if there is enough support for them to want to join.
With that said, there are a lot of other areas that the EU and Canada could work much closer together that falls short of EU membership but could someday open up the door to EU membership if both sides want that.
Either way, I think the EU should open up to like-minded nations around the world that just want to live in peace, trade and be more open with each other, there's no technical reason to limit the EU to just Europe when there are a lot of other countries around the world might be interested if the option was there, but if it did happen, I think the name of the EU would have to change, European Union wouldn't make much sense if countries from around the world are joining and something along the lines of World Union would make more sense or something like that.
