The Middle East might not of been perfect before 9/11 but at least it was more stable until the US invaded, since then, terrorism has gone up a lot, probably millions of people have died over the last 20 years that didn't have too and the entire region is far less stable, the French and the Germans tried to warn the US and UK but the US had other reasons to wanting to invade and the sad truth is, none of the people that created the mess are paying for it, we like to think of ourselves as an enlighten people, we are not even close and the funny thing is, the US is becoming the main threat to world peace, could you imaging saying that 50 years ago, how quickly countries can change.

Diplomacy was the best way, it would've been much slower to get the right result but it would of created far less problems, ultimately, we needed to get there own people to overthrow the government, once they lose support of the people, governments crumble and change can happen, hopefully peaceful change, problem is when a foreign power intervenes, they usually have different motives in the region and are not usually looked at in a good light by the natives.
