Very true, the US playing hardball with China with tariffs and other underhanded tactics is forcing China to develop it's own high-end tech sector and they've got the economy to back that up with time, and with Trump making waves and being on unfriendly terms even with friendly countries, we could end up seeing a major shift in the global political landscape over the next few decades. Basically, the US needs to be careful about losing it's allies, especially the EU, otherwise, China will take advantage of that and China is looking for any opening in pulling the EU away from the US, Trump could be a disaster for the US if he plays hardball with too many important allies.
