leapsplashafrog, it doesn't quite work that way, we will have less money then more unless the UK gets a really good deal and a really good deal will likely mean putting money into the EU pot, we get more out of the EU then we put in, afterall, no country would join a club unless it benefits them.
As for the 40 odd billion, thats something the UK will pay, it would be costly for the UK if we don't pay that up because it's an agreement by EU and international law, not abiding by that would do the UK a lot of damage to trust on the world stage at a time we can't afford that.
As for saying Britain is past caring, funny really because if that was the case, we would be out already, the reality is that a lot of Brits do care and that number seems to be growing, say what we want about Brexit but it's been a shambles from day one and all because the Brexiteers can't tell the truth.
