@franznatur That's 450 million rich consumers, also, many of these laws pass onto other European countries like Norway and Switzerland that are not in the EU. Basically, it's a massive market that can't be ignored, hence why a lot of these rules the EU does, ends up becoming worldwide rules. The US could do the same but they are not that great on consumer protection.

That energy rating thing could be very interesting, it's shown to work when they do it on other market that it puts pressure on businesses to make their products a lot more energy efficient, also, by having a clear to understand label, more consumers are more likely to buy phones that are more efficient which puts more pressure on businesses to improve efficiency.
