Of course Germany can rebuild it's military, they've got more than a big enough economy to do so and a highly educated workforce, it's just a matter if there is enough political and public will to make it happen, especially considering that Germany has been quite passive since the second world war and that's quite understandable, but the world is different now, Germany is different, the country needs to step up and play a bigger role, after all, Germany has the core ingredients to become a bigger military power then France or the UK, it's if they've got the will to make it happen. Personally, I do feel that EU countries would be better off building a military power through the EU, it would be far more powerful than what the individual countries can do, it would also reduce a lot of waste and duplications that 27 different militaries have, and ultimately, the end goal is the same, defence and protecting our interest, who is more likely to be able to do a better job at that, 27 individual much smaller militaries that the likes of the US laugh at? Or a super military by pooling resources together through the EU?
