He's right, the west has been too complacent with Putin and other countries like that and that emboldens them into thinking the west is weak and won't do anything or do much, which allows the likes of Putin to invade Ukraine and they won't stop until you stand up to them.
The west does need to get its act together, because the west comes across as weak which it's anything but that, they need to get tougher with countries like Russia because in Putin, there are many more like that around the world looking for weaknesses to take advantage off and in the case of Putin, he invaded Ukraine because he saw the west as being weak to Russia over the last 2 decades.
The war in Ukraine didn't have to happen if the west was more bold against Russia years ago, still, it looks like they've woken up, it's unlikely that Russia is going to get on the good side of the west any time soon, the EU countries are moving away from Russian oil and gas and even if a new leader was to replace Putin, I think Russia has lost the EU countries as a customer for the near term future, Putin actions is also bringing the west together whiles at the same time, making the EU and NATO stronger as more countries want to join them.
