@dutchball2345 It's power display day, dictators always like to express power to its own people and especially to the people of the world to say, look at what we've got lol.
Since the war in Ukraine, these parades have been a lame duck for Putin and if he really wanted to impress, he would have a full on parade with the usually military equipment to say to the west, not only do we have enough for the war in Ukraine, but we have enough for a parade.
In the end, all Putin is showing is weakness with the parade, that resources are running thin that he needs everything for the war effort in Ukraine, but let's not kid ourselves, if Putin could spare more for the parade, he would, it's what dictators do.

I always find it amusing how these military parades are usually a thing dictators want to show off their powers, it's almost like a sign of insecurity in wanting to convince the west or their own people of their own capabilities, and in the end, it proves nothing, because real power in this world is based on the size of the economy, western countries are far more powerful and don't have anything to prove and only do parades for special occasions, and we should remember, if the economic muscle in western countries is thrown into arms production, military capabilities will go through the roof.
Basically, in the west, we are throwing crumbs at the military, because we value quality of life, but if a threat of war were to loom on any western countries, watch how quickly things will change from standard economics to putting the economy on a war footing, and even today, the west sees Russia as weak, you only have to see how they are responding to the war in Ukraine to see that, little urgency.
