I highly doubt Russia would attack an EU or NATO country, either one is a lot more powerful than Ukraine is and it would be a declaration of war, but there's a madman in charge of Russia and he's desperate at the moment, so can't rule anything out. Studies have been made a few years ago that if a war was to break out with NATO and Russia, it said Russia wouldn't last more than 36 hours, that's under normal times, Russian is a much weaker force now with their economy being hit hard and the resource drain on the military in Ukraine. Truth is, Putin went for Ukraine because it's resource rich and is one of the poorest countries in Europe, going up against a modern European or NATO country is a very different story and considering how poor the Russian military is fairing in Ukraine, I don't fancy Russia's chances against the west.
