  1. I remember hearing that Picard is much older then the actor so he made him seem older and more frail, so yeah most of it is acting and acted well because it's quite convincing.

  2.  @fredrika27  Softer is one thing but you can tell he's acting an older person as Picard then his real life and if Picard is 94, that would explain it.
