  1. We might not need the EU for peace any more but Europeans do need it if we are to compete with big powers like the US and China when it comes to protecting European economic and political interest.

  2. But the EU made it a lot easier to trade with each other whiles also making it a lot easier for people to live and work anywhere in the EU union and that does generate a lot of wealth.

  3. It's hard to say but it didn't do any harm and for me, the EU, NATO and nukes are what brought peace to Europeans.

  4.  @Venus03  If we remember, shortly after the second world war, the European Steel and Coal Community was set up with the main intention of making it much harder for European countries to go to war with each other as resources are more tied together so going to war would have impacted both sides just as bad, it seems to have worked as well because now Europeans are not as aggressive on that front now and ironically, the Americans are picking up from where Europe left.
