I doubt that will happen, tech progress speeds up or slows down depending on need. If water was to become an issue, watch how much more resources would be thrown at the problem to solve it and that would speed up the tech development a lot and this is the case on any tech, it really depends on need and how desperate a situation becomes, so it's very likely this problem will get solved before it even becomes a problem.

@digiryde True and that's the age old problem with humans, we tend to change when we have too and not before, hence why there is no energy, water crisis or anything because the more urgent it becomes, the quicker a solution arrives. In that sense, it reminds me of the second world war and the atomic bomb, a lot of people thought that would be the end of us and the reason for that is because humans are a war like people, at least that's how it was seen going on the past records, but what ended up happening is the atomic bomb forced us to change, now we don't have major wars because the risk is too high, wars now are done either from poor country vs poor country or rich country against poor country that can't fight back.

@awokenv7302 True but the problem is getting that tech cheap enough and being able to produce it on mass for it to really have an impact.

@roymakescomics That's highly unlikely, we can already convert seawater into drinking water today and that should become easier in the decades to come and considering we can already catch humidity droplets in the air into water, I highly doubt water is going to be an issue in the near future.
