The real silver lining in all this is that many are doing insulation jobs on their homes over the last 8 months, we did it on our house in the UK years ago and thanks to that, we hardly use gas at all because it doesn't get cold enough in winter to need it.
If a lot of people do this, the savings longer term as things settle will be massive and clearly, it's better to passively keep your home warm in winter and cool in summer without needing no heating or cooling or very little of it and for us, on average, we use heating about 2 or 3 days a year and even then, it's only for an hour or two, any more than that and it would be way too hot.
Now all we need to do is a solar and/or wind setup to reduce our electric bills a lot.
So yeah, things might be tough at the moment in Europe but these events usually mean big changes and people do big changes when they have too.
Another plus is that it looks like the winter is going to mild in Europe, going on the weather forecast
