@carlosdaroza In truth, the UK never had a special relationship with the US, it was all made up to make the Brits seem more relevent on the world stage but in reality, I don't see how it benefits the UK anymore then say France.
Also, speaking of special relationship, we had one already and it was right under our nose with the EU but many didn't want to see that because of blind hate, in truth, our intrest was protected far more inside the EU then the US would do for the UK.
As for trade deals, the US is about profit and because of that, they will want a better deal with the EU then the UK and the EU could if they wanted too play hardball on that in that they could put pressure on the US to not give them a good deal if they want a good deal with the EU and the US will always follow the money and leave the UK out in the cold.
Back on the special relationship, if there is any, it's likely between the EU and US not UK and US and more so as power is shifting from west to east, Trump doesn't realise that but many smart Americans do and as power continues to shift is, that special relationship between the EU and US will likely become stronger because of self intrest in protecting western intrest in the world.
In any event, it's looking like the UK is being cast aside by both the EU and US and clearlly we don't want that.

@helmutzollner5496 I'm sure they will but outside the EU, the EU wont care who the British blame and it will soon dawn on us Brits that the EU was never really the problem, our own goverment was and that will really kick in if Brexit hurts the UK a lot.
In any case, the UK have used the EU as a scapegoat for everything thats wrong in the UK, after Brexit and the UK has full control, if things don't get better in the UK and fast, there could be hell to pay for the ones that pushed Brexit the hardest because then the British people will realise that it wasn't the EU that messed the country up but it was our own goverment that did it like it's always been.
In any case, I think the UK could be screwed whatever happens now, we've let this mess go too far now that even if we did stay in the EU, we have already lost billions and a lot of trust thats likely going to take over a decade to regain, the Brexiteers have made the UK look like a joke in Europe and on the world stage and many around the world have noticed that, that view wont change even after Brexit and even if we stay in the EU, so in that sense, the damage is already done, all we can do is limit the damage and the best way to do that is remaining in the EU.
